Here you'll find samples of past projects. They're divided into two primary categories; 'Projects' being primarily Flash-based and 'HTML' being HTML4 and CSS2 driven.

These 'projects' are primarily Flash-based files that were part of a larger project. The projects listed here are either CD-ROM based or internal intranet based sites. Only the Flash portions that I developed are presented here.

Beyond The Dash

A specialized driver training business in Victoria, BC, this Flash based site was done to allow a more interactive experience without sacrificing load times or user problems. Highlights include on online quiz as well as a keyboard operated driving trainer. Year: 2003 - View Sample

Employee Centre for Development & Learning

Working for W&C CBT Solutions In of Victoria, this online, Flash based tutorial was developed for the Employee Centre for Employee Development and Learning (BC Ministry of Finance) to allow training of their staff for a new online training system. As well as the tutorial I also designed the interface for the training program. Year: 2005 - View Sample.

BC Parks

Approached by BC Parks i was asked to explore how Flash could be worked in to their existing site layout and standards. Since that time BC Parks web site has undergone a number of redesigns and does incorporate Flash. Highlights include an interactive map, an embedded video and a children drawing game. Northeast Native Advancing Society

Working with Eagle Vision Productions this Flash project was designed to run directly off a CD. A project with the Northeast Native Society to archive their native language. Playable on CD and the web as well as audio players, the presentation allowed real vocal tracks to be selected and played. Year: 2006 - View Sample

Northeast Native Advancing Society Kids Disc

After the completion of the Language archive CD a follow up project for Native children was created. A number of games including a memory game, music maker and an alphabet game were all created for either online play or from a CD. Year: 2006 - View Sample

Trail Dreamers

In partnership with Eagle Vision Productions of Fort St. John, this Flash based project presented First Nations ceremonial drum tracks. Flash allowed for a true multimedia experience. CD based, the disc could be played on Mac's, PCs, car audio players and home CD players. Year: 2006 - View Sample.

Pacific Fleet Naval Officers Training Centre

Part of an internal online training program, these Flash based interactions include a drag and drop quiz for two classes of vessels and a lesson on on board fire equipment. Highlights include multiple drag and drop and dragable pop up windows. Year: 2008 - View Sample 1, View Sample 2, View Sample 3

Foxcreek Interactive Map

Developed for a new real estate project in New Brunswick, this interactive Flash map gets its information from an external XML file, all playable within a Drupal created web site. Year: 2010 - View Sample

Property Assessment Review Panel

Responsible for both the CD based Flash design and the actual video recording, this six month project for the BC Property Assessment resulted in two CD discs containing almost 6 hours of interactive training video. Using FLV formatted video clips and Actionscript allows for compact, interactive files playable on either the web or CD. Year: 2005 - View Sample

Action Guys #1

Developed as an exercise for a web development course I taught at the University of Victoria, this working mock up was designed and created completely from Fireworks. It shows the capabilities of Fireworks for generating quick, working and functional mock ups. All images and photographs were created or taken by myself. Year: 2005 - View sample

United Church

Approached by the United Church on the Saanich Peninsula, they asked me for a mock up of a update to their existing website. It resulted in my teaching one of their members on how to create web sites with Dreamweaver, Fireworks, basic HTML and CSS. This sample was done with HTML 4 and CSS 2. All artwork and graphics were created by me in either Fireworks or Photoshop. Year: 2006 - View Sample

Patterson & Kaercher Construction

Located in Victoria, British Columbia, Patterson & Kaercher Construction is an award winning builder of commercial and residential properties for over 25 years. This site was built with Dreanweaver using CSS 2 along with XML to supply content for the pages. Besides the site design I also am responsible for the photographs seen on the site. Advanced Subsea Services

Long time clients of mine, Advanced Subsea Services web site has gone through a number of site revisions over the years. The latest utilizes Flash and CSS 2 to supply a unique look and feel for their business. I also supply ADVSS with tech support and technology advice. Year: 2010 - View Site.

Re-Organized

RE:ORGANIZED! Professional Organizing offers organizing services, workshops, seminars and training in workplaces and homes on southern Vancouver Island. Designed using Wordpress to allow the client to maintain and update the site themselves. I offer tech support when required. Year: 2010 - View Site.

Jesse Hlady Photography

Based in Victoria, British Columbia, Jesse Hlady Photography is an award winning photographer specializing in weddings and portraits. The recent, and matching Wordpress blog, was designed using Dreamweaver & Fireworks and takes advantage of CSS 2. Highlights of the site are the Flash-based galleries. Year: 2011 - View Site.

International Hotel Appraisers

Specializing in hotel property appraisals, the IHA web site has a Flash based banner introduction and XML feeds on the front page to both the sites blog and industry news. Using Adobe ICE (In Context Editing) the client can update a number of the pages from any browser with web access. Year: 2009 - View Site.

Mixedlight Photography

My other web site and business, Mixedlight Photography. Designed using Dreamweaver and Fireworks, the site was built using CSS 3 and Flash. The Flash based galleries are also optimized for display on iThings. There is also a Wordpress blog. Year: 2011 - View Site.
